Books Inc. announces Living Landscape author event for October 21 in Berkeley

Books Inc., the independent bookstore on Fourth Street in Berkeley, California, will host a reading and book signing by Living Landscape author Laura McCreery on Thursday, October 21, 2010 at 7:00 p.m.

The book reveals how the East Bay Regional Park District, formed during the Great Depression, grew to include more than 100,000 acres in 65 public parks throughout the East Bay counties of Alameda and Contra Costa. Oakland Magazine wrote in its September/October 2010 issue: “McCreery follows the 75-year history of the. . .largest park agency in the country in her commemorative tome. All the giants in the park district development are present and accounted for.”
